Leadership Role: INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR

Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision- making process.

Specific Job Summary

Primary Objective:

This role will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with IT and MVW business areas to drive maximum value of productivity tools within the Digital Workplace (DW) portfolio. This will involve implementing existing tools to improve business processes, and looking for innovative solutions to solve business needs, drive adoption, improve associate productivity and engagement. This involves an understanding of how digital tools impact the workplace experience at MVW for each stage of the associate lifecycle.

 Scope:

  • This position is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all MVW DW platforms
  • Stay current on emerging technologies in the DW environment
  • Partner with technology teams as required in supporting the launch of processes designed to enhance our vision of a digital workplace
  • Partner with MVW business teams and IT in definining, designing, and implement the next generation of workplace solutions which drive efficiency, collaboration, productivity, and engagement
  • Assist in the design of omni-channel workplace solutions for the field operations, deskless workers, and office-based workers
  • Stay current on the Microsoft technology roadmap for MVW digital platforms
  • This position will focus on bringing maximum value out of productivity tools, mobile apps, and collaboration tools including the intranet



Expected Contributions

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

    • identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes
    • providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution
    • participating in setting department operating plans.
    • recognizing and celebrating team successes.
    • achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

Key Accountabilities:

  • Understand, articulate and implement best practices within the area of DW and provide guidance on how the tools can address specific business needs
  • Partner with business liaisons and technical teams to understand and define business goals and functional requirements, translate subject matter terminology into business terms and recommend alternatives.
  • Understand and monitor the Microsoft Roadmap; evaluate changes, upgrades and new tools: recommend implementation strategies; communicate and provide training as required
  • Help develop a DW communication strategy to include in person presentations; written updates; reporting and metrics development
  • Continuing Education -- recommended training; develop training and productivity tips
  • Develop programs and action plans to increase adoption of all DW tools; metrics, data, reporting and use case development
  • Develop programs (champions, communities of interest, etc.) to drive increased associate productivity; metrics, data, reporting, best practices sharing
  • Support deployment and adoption of corporate collaboration platforms and programs
  • Development and delivery of training and adoption materials
  • Stay aware of emerging trends and current issues around various solutions and business areas
  • Recommend business area and IT process improvements using the DW tools
  • Participate as a member of the Digital Workplace Governance Committee
  • Facilitate the MVW Digital Workplace Community of Interest; managing the agenda, Yammer group, scheduling, presenting, recommendations

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA degree in relevant field(s) or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum5-7 years of relevant work experience

Skills: See core competencies above with addition of:

  • Proficiency with O365 Suite of Tools including core office products: Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote, Yammer, Skype for Business, SharePoint and their associated mobile applications for associate use
  • Experience in working with Internet of Things (IOT) implications and designing workplace solutions for office-based and deskless workers
  • Experience with workplace productivity tools including intranets, employee portals and collaboration tools
  • Experience in conference room and voice/data technologies and the end user experience

Certifications: Microsoft product certification(s) a plus
