The Associate Director, Inventory Systems Services position assists with inventory system planning objectives within the Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) Inventory & Revenue Management (IRM) Inventory & Revenue Management teams.

This position is responsible for being the IRM Inventory System and Application user expert for MVW.

Additionally, this position is responsible for the proactive design, development and delivery of business solutions for IRM.

Specific Contributions – describes overview of the responsibility; what will they be held accountable for  

  • Supports IRM corporate and field stakeholders by providing analysis on IRM systems and applications. Effectively differentiates between user and technical error in order to provide prompt response cycles.
  • Acquires and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of all business applications and source data, as well as their data extracts,
  • Utilizes business application expertise to ensure that inventory is accurately staged within the appropriate applications.
  • Represents IRM in on-going and future development of applicable systems and related applications.
  • Clearly articulates the MVW Inventory and Revenue Management functional requirements for all major Revenue management initiatives.
  • Manages and leverages Marriott assets that can be used in MVW's business.
  • Supports the solicitation and incorporation of MVW field and other stakeholder input in to applicable Revenue Management business requirements.
  • Thoroughly documents business process flows, data entities, and functional requirements to support inventory systems initiatives and their rollout to MVW products.
  • Serves as an available resource to spearhead Revenue Management aspects of new MVW initiatives.
  • Works as a liaison with Marriott International, to communicate MVW Revenue Management policies and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate system support for the MVW Brand.
  • Liaises with development partners to ensure business needs and objectives are successfully translated on a timely basis.
  • Provides technical guidance for all process enhancements.
  • Participates in the preparation of communications to ensure stakeholders are consistently up-to-date on enhancements, modifications and data uploads.
  • Effectively prioritizes ad- hoc requests by internal customers.
  • Participates with the IRM Operational Reporting team on the development of model-based reporting and shared data requirements.
  • Thoroughly documents business process flows, data entities, and functional requirements to support inventory systems initiatives and their rollout to MVW products.
  • Provides consistent on call service 24 hours per day – 365 days per year, for any IRM system and application related issues.  Ensures that appropriate coverage and back-up is in place as needed.     
  • Responsible for providing stakeholders with on-going activity and resolution reporting.  Prepares ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Responsible for identifying trends in system and application questions, concerns and/or requests.  Identifies opportunities to mitigate or eliminate duplication via communication and/or training and surface with appropriate stakeholders
  • Responsible for the completion of the appropriate audits to ensure inventory is accurately represented in all applications and available for allocation as needed.
  • Performs all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for thoroughly documenting business process flows, data entities, and functional requirements to support systems initiatives and their rollout to MVW products.
  • Complies with MVW and Marriott International (MI) policies and procedures.
  • Is proactive and has a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 10 years’ related experience.
  • Timeshare or Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in defect tracking, change management tracking, test environments, development environments and participation in system review boards preferred.
