Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, the Senior Manager contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.




Specific Job Summary

The Tax Senior Manager, International Tax is responsible for tax planning, preparation and review of all U.S. tax reporting requirements, tax compliance for international operation for MVWC’s foreign entities.  The Senior Manager manages a team of tax professionals and outside service providers to meet on-going business tax requirements and obligations in compliance with the tax laws and regulations, assists with tax audits and evaluate tax planning opportunities in various jurisdictions.





Expected Contributions

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk. 
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists business leaders in achieving business results by:
    • identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.
    • providing training and technical guidance to staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.
    • participating in setting department operating plans.
    • recognizing and celebrating team successes.
    • achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Prepares and reviews U.S. international tax filings including Forms 5471, 8865, subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, interest limitations, foreign tax credits, tax basis, etc.
  • Directs foreign tax compliance in foreign jurisdictions including foreign corporate tax, withholding, and other local taxes.
  • Identifies, provides direction and technical expertise on the development and implementation of international tax planning strategies.
  • Support U.S. and foreign country business initiatives by evaluating U.S. and foreign tax implications including income tax, indirect tax, permanent establishment risk by performing tax research, coordinating with local tax advisors and local business teams.
  • Manages transfer pricing requirements including master file and jurisdictional reporting.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation supporting the U.S. ASC 740 tax accounting implications of MVW’s foreign and U.S. tax provision.
  • Provides direction on tax implications of global cash repatriation through collaboration with Treasury and local market teams to optimize financial implications.
  • Manages foreign tax audits and international tax aspects of U.S. tax audits.
  • Keeps current on developments in U.S. and foreign tax law and regulations; develops tax planning, risk mitigation strategies.


Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology).  College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor of Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • CPA or Master of Taxation preferred.

Experience

  • +5 years of corporate tax experience with similar size organizations with minimum of five years international tax experience.
  • +3 years in a supervisory role with demonstrated success leading and developing a functional team in a complex, service-intensive, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong U.S. international tax technical skills including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, Sec. 163(j), FTC limitation calculations, transfer pricing and tax research and planning.
  • Experience leading and managing large scale initiatives.
  • Proven history of consistently delivering results.
  • Timeshare, real estate development, or hospitality experience preferred.
