Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.

Specific Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer works in alignment with the Development and Operations groups, quality assurance analysts, product owners, Scrum masters and project leads.  The position is reporting to the Lead of DevOps & Automation team. This role focuses on implementing and supporting corporate DevOps practices and toolset.

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.

  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:
    • identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.
    • providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.

    • achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Implement and maintain DevOps automation tools and processes
  • Ensure Pipelines are fully integrated with IT Security and Test Automation toolset
  • Ensure that Pipelines are in compliance to the corporate IT Security, Change and Release Management processes.
  • Configure and maintain corporate Jenkins Pipelines
  • Perform other system administration tasks as assigned by management
  • Configure all builds and ensure they run on schedule and on a timely basis
  • Troubleshoot all failed builds, involving the development teams where necessary
  • Support application deployments to development, test and production environments both on-premise and in the cloud (AWS)
  • Maintain application and environment configurations through automated processes and tools (Hashicorp Consul)
  • Responsible for the execution of the process controls, ensuring that staff comply with DevOps process and standards.
  • Participate in the evaluation of DevOps tools and recommend those that best meet the organization requirements.
  • Willingness to research and implement continuous improvements to processes and technologies

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology).  College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math or Computer Science or technical training/experience equivalent.
  • Experience with Unix shell scripting for DevOps automation and administration tasks is required
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or similar is required
  • Developer tools - Maven, Git (Knowledge of Merging, Branching), Artifact Repositories (Nexus)
  • Experience with Groovy scripting for DevOps automation is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Veracode Web security is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation and/or Hashicorp Terraform is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Splunk is a plus
  • Agile Methodology (Scrum or other)
