Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department and monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with broader business objectives, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, and managing own organization through reliable systems and processes.

Specific Job Summary (describe the nature and purpose of the position)

The Creative Director, Content Development leads a content studio that is responsible for creating groundbreaking consumer content. This role directs multi-platform story driven creative strategies that drive response and build brand loyalty. The Creative Director, Content Development is an expert storyteller turning a content strategy into impactful and emotional visually charged content.

  • Provides creative leadership and vision for visual content based on an overall strategy
  • Directs and produces multi-media content for digital and social applications
  • Aligns cross functional business requirements with creative solutions
  • Provides holistic solutions that leverage raw assets across channels
  • Presents multiple concepts to business partners and gathers cross functional feedback
  • Creates both long and short format video deliverables
  • Contributes to new media and technology strategies and proposes innovative solutions
  • Develop individual brand visual identities, along with an umbrella club visual approach for video content
  • Leads ideation sessions with leadership, partners and creative team
  • Manages team deliverables and sets expectations
  • Understands requirements of multiple platforms and delivery technologies
  • Creates content for environmental media instances
  • Manages external resources for concepting and production
  • Provides regular updates to leadership teams
  • Leads content driven activations and direct response content
  • Documents status and project details in project management system
  • Optimize the team processes for increased efficiencies
  • Proactively identifies project risks in advance and resolves or elevates to leadership as appropriate
  • Orchestrates across the teams to ensure successful completion on time and within budget
  • Proactively communicates with the traffic managers, the team and individuals to keep projects on track
  • Reprioritizes work and updates schedules as the business requires

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile (the education, experience, skills and attributes that are important for this position)

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership/management experience at an advertising agency or similar organization
  • Minimum 10 years experience creating high concept visual content for an experiential consumer brand
  • International experience a plus
  • Ability to concept new ideas and find creative approaches to storytelling
  • Content production experience required
  • Advertising agency experience preferred
  • Highly proficient in content creation and design software and principles
  • Extensive understanding of the creative and production processes across channels
  • Experience in deploying content on multiple platforms/channels 
  • Relevant 4-year degree form an accredited college or university
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate toward a common goal
  • Known as a great partner and problem solver
  • Can manage high volume of work with strong organizational skills
  • Strong follow up and skills with proven track record to deliver on expectations
