Job Summary

Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation (MVW) is a leading global vacation company that offers vacation ownership, exchange, rental, and resort and property management, along with related businesses, products and services. The company has more than 100 resorts and nearly 650,000 Owners and Members in a diverse portfolio that includes seven vacation ownership brands. The MVW Law Department provides legal support and legal services to all aspects of the Company's business.

This position reports to a Senior Paralegal II in the practice group. This position performs extensive document review and drafting, factual research, document analysis and organization, entity organization and maintenance tasks. The position requires regular contact and interaction with the business team as well as with consultants and outside legal counsel. In addition, the position requires substantial knowledge of the corporate secretary and entity management subject matters relative to MVW companies. This position typically works closely with other paralegals and under moderate supervision of one or more attorneys.

Expected Contributions

  • Draft legal correspondence, documents, and memoranda for attorney review; once reviewed, revise, distribute, and transmit legal correspondence, documents and memoranda.
  • Maintain corporate books and records for several hundred U.S. and foreign subsidiaries of MVW.
  • Prepare annual meeting minutes, resolutions, delegations of authority and other corporate compliance and maintenance documents.
  • Assure compliance with state and local regulations through the regular filing of annual reports, financial statements, qualifications to do business and renewals of the same in numerous jurisdictions.
  • Prepare corporate resolutions, powers of attorney and related documentation.
  • Manage and maintain filings, organizational and good standing documentation for MVW subsidiaries.
  • Independently research legal topics, summarize findings in writing, and file written work product in appropriate paper and computer files.
  • Organize and purge multiple files following completion of project or resolution of matter, as appropriate. Actively contact other associates to obtain information and guidance regarding materials and information to be included in files.
  • Create, update, and maintain database, as appropriate.
  • Analyze various documents as required by attorney(s).
  • Interact with outside entities (e.g., outside legal counsel, government agencies and corporations) to gather information, documentation or data.
  • Consult with and direct files to attorney when issues arise outside of the scope of his or her responsibility or experience.
  • Assist with training new associates, as appropriate.
  • Assist paralegals and attorneys in gathering information and resolving issues with clients.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the paralegal(s) and/or attorney(s) which may involve handling confidential and sensitive material.

Candidate Profile


  • Four-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience with an outstanding performance record
  • Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program or qualifying legal experience


  • 0 to 3 years of substantive, relevant experience as a paralegal or equivalent experience in a law firm or corporate law department;


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time; ability to work well under pressure;
  • Ability to structure moderately complex projects efficiently and set/adjust priorities effectively;
  • Sound judgment and use of discretion; conscientious approach to all responsibilities;
  • Superior attention to detail;
  • Diligence, dependability and strong work ethic;
  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Knowledge of LEXIS/NEXIS helpful;
  • PC and other relevant technology competencies (e.g., Microsoft applications).
