The business development manager will be responsible for managing a specific geographic area within Interval’s business development business unit.   Primary objectives include increasing market share with existing, homeowner association controlled, resorts and developer clients, maximizing profit while ensuring that corporate objectives relative to overall performance are accomplished on an ongoing basis, and providing service and support to Interval resort clients in the region.

The employee will be responsible for evaluating and pursuing the most effective strategies to grow and secure the company’s business and will be responsible for meeting short-term and long-range objectives, including ongoing execution of competitive analysis, proactive tactical market planning, and for managing Interval’s relationship with clients, industry associates, and vendors.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures that adequate plans for the development of new business resulting in the growth of Interval International are prepared, and periodically presents said plans for review and approval by the Director, VP and other members of senior management as appropriate. Ongoing reporting includes tracking of leads and client activity, the implementation of sales strategies, and the success derived through new business generating opportunities for the company.

Responsible for retaining existing clients and for achieving new business goals as established on a quarterly and annual basis.  Such responsibilities would include but are not limited to, new resort affiliations, the sale of Interval products and services, including but not limited to Interval Gold, Club Interval Gold, Leisure Time Passport and Dream Vacation Week Certificates.

Works with dedicated personnel within Interval’s Inventory Yield Management division and sources inventory at preferential rates and terms in support of Interval’s exchange and Getaway’s programs. Additionally, works with hotels/resorts to renew inventory deals on a yearly basis.

Works with existing and future resort clients to secure membership enrollment of owner base via Barter Membership Agreements. Coordinates inventory allocation is sufficient to cover cost of membership enrollments and yields positive revenue for the company.

Responsibilities relative to new resort affiliations include; ensuring that resorts are inspected, agreements are drafted by legal and executed by the client, all affiliation documentation is complete and a presentation is created for review with the Resort Affiliation Committee.

Conducts inspections of resort affiliates and completes Quality Rating Surveys.

Ensures that expenses are in line with approved budget.

Ability to travel on an ongoing basis, with travel typically in the 35% to 50% range on an annual basis.

Oversees servicing of existing affiliates, and secures market intelligence, and reports to management on competitive challenges and issues. 

Participates in and coordinates corporate related activities, e.g. client & company meetings.  Represents the company in internal and external communications. Serves as company representative in industry conferences, meetings with clients and conducts trainings for timeshare salespeople on Interval’s products and services.

Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Graduation from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years business to business sales experience.

Must possess strong leadership ability, with solid strategic thinking skills, and organizational savvy.

Physical Requirements
