Specific Job Summary

The special project manager manages assigned tactical support efforts as well as specific projects in support of strategic business objectives for Corporate Resort Operations, specifically the ENGINEERING discipline of the Rooms & Related department. Projects and support efforts are varied in scope and duration and encompass one or more of the following project management elements: project definition, pre-planning, project support, tactical operations support, research & analysis, development of deliverables, timeline and implementation of plans, communications strategy.

Specific Expected Contributions

Position works with Senior Director, Engineering (Rooms and Related) and the Senior Director, Rooms & Related to provide tactical support of department initiatives and field support areas as well as lead division-wide projects in support of key support elements. Position will seek to define project scope, timeline, deliverables and implementation plans based on project outcomes. The position is responsible for the day-to-day support, management & execution of assigned projects and meeting project goals.

Project Planning and Development

The special project manager gathers and analyzes information from various sources (stakeholders, surveys and/or internal & external data) relative to the assigned project. The special project manager presents draft project proposals, deliverables and implementation plans to Director, Rooms and Related and/or project stakeholder.

Project Execution

The special project manager works both independently managing day-to-day tactical support and project elements (research, analysis, drafting recommendations, timelines and implementation plans) as well as in cooperation with stakeholders, site leaders and others who provide input and/or who will be impacted by the project outcome.

Project Outcomes / Implementation

At the direction of the Senior Director, Rooms and Related the special project manager implements new or revised practices or programs as a project outcome, based on project research and analysis. Implementation includes preparation of communications, reports, presentations and training aids, as needed. Development of on-going reporting to monitor the effectiveness of the new practice or program is also a longer-term project outcome. Resort-specific effort on project development to include, but not limited to, working with resort leadership and capex budget to determine implementation strategy for key projects (initial projects listed below); lead COA BOD communication efforts for approval of funding; be single point of accountability with key vendors and the resort through the execution of the project.

INITIAL PROJECTS:

Engineering Technology

§ Take lead for division in establishing comprehensive approach to engineering based technology projects. This will include, but is not limited to:

o RFID Lock Programs

o Energy Management Systems

o HVAC Programs

o Lighting Standards

Energy Conservation

§ Take lead for division in establishing comprehensive approach to energy conservation through the establishment of improved standards and the engagement of outside resources to assess site-specific opportunities.

This will include, but is not limited to:

o Energy Conservation

o Water Conservation

o Green programs

o Recycling programs

o Process improvements to impact items above

Asgard

§ Work with key stakeholders to determine needs and deliverables for maximizing the use and effectiveness of the Asgard system as it relates to VillaCare and preventative maintenance

§ Become technically knowledgeable about the system and its capabilities

§ Determine how users are using the system versus its capabilities, the level of user competence with the system and where the opportunities may lie.

GSS

§ Analyze survey data for division-wide implications; develop recommended strategies for increasing GSS scores region-wide, specifically for EIWO persistent issues

§ Implement new strategies or strengthen existing ones

§ Build reports and communicate GSS results

Specific Candidate Profile

§ Four-year degree in business management or a related field or equivalent work experience
§ 5 years management experience managing small- to medium-sized projects from initial concept to implementation and ongoing adherence
§ Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and vendor interfaces; able to learn MVCI systems related to projects supported
§ Must be a self-starter, well organized, and possess a strong attention to detail
§ Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple projects
§ Professional demeanor and appearance; strong communications and interpersonal
§ Goal oriented, self-motivated
§ Able to maintain a team environment and interact well with all levels of the organization
