Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with business strategies, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, managing own organization through reliable systems and processes, and producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.

Specific Job Summary

The Sr. Manager, CRM Development will establish the vision, processes, and lead the CRM development team responsible for creating and delivering technical solutions for CRM applications that meets MVW business objectives. Responsible for developing software based on requirements, user stories, and technical specifications that aligns with acceptance criteria, software development best practices, and DevOps capabilities.

Partners with CRM Systems Analysis team, Enterprise Architecture, Middleware and DBA teams, Project Management/Delivery, Service Validation and Test, Operations and others in IT and the MVW Business teams to consistently deliver optimal solutions. Responsible for following the prescribed development processes, frameworks, methodologies, and tools.

Member of cross functional agile team responsible for on-time delivery of optimal solutions. Hands on development and lead team that develops for multiple CRM Salesforce environments that use service cloud, sales cloud, marketing cloud. Maintain and extend these orgs by providing complex declarative solutions including flows, connected apps, Lightning, Einstein, visual force, apex, lightning components, and canvasing applications. Additionally, will manage other applications including Java apps to support business initiatives.

• Works to enhance the organization's capabilities through participating in hiring process using appropriate Marriott interviewing tools to hire the best individual contributors available from inside or outside

• Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

    • acting in a consultative fashion to implement process improvements
    • assisting in the development and communication of broader team goals
    • achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility
    • setting and maintaining high standards for team and individual performance
    • providing timely coaching and feedback
    • Works with others to identify and remove barriers to success

• Readily critiques own behavior to acknowledge mistakes and improve future leadership performance and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge

• Performs other duties as appropriate

Specific Expected Contributions

• Directs efforts and manages the complexities of large projects, business processes and/or client groups

• Responsible for technical software design, development, troubleshooting and performance tuning

• Leads efforts to implement technical solutions from the design specifications

• Responsible for application technical design, code and system implementation

• Provides input/expertise for project estimation, work plan development and staffing

• Supervises teams, providing input to performance review, mentoring on technology

• Partners with third-party vendor on-shore and off-shore teams to ensure their work products comply with MVW technical standards

• Continuously keeps up-to-date with new technology and IT processes

• Contributes to MVW Best Practices Library by creating or enhancing standards

• Contributes to enhancing DevOps capabilities

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

Education - BS/BA or technical certification or equivalent work experience

Experience -- 8 + years' work experience in similar position or having equivalent kind of skills experience

Core Competencies:

• Significant experience managing technical teams, including direct supervisory experience and experience mentoring and developing technical professionals

• Expert level of knowledge with modern web technologies, including object-oriented programming, HTTP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, and AJAX. Up to date experience developing web applications & services, as well as consuming data from public and/or internal API's

• Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures and algorithms

• Experience with automation, continuous integration, unit test, change management and configuration management, and code reviews

• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environment

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, jQuery, and node.js is desirable

• Ability to lead in a team environment and effectively collaborate to deliver technical solutions

• Ability to be a team player, motivate people, ensure accountability and achieve results

• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately to all levels of the organization, effectively communicate status and risk to the team and leaders

• Provide excellent customer service to internal IT partners, business teams, and external partners

• Able to work at a fast pace and encourage others to do so as well.

• Ability to measure team and individual's performance through the definition and measuring of key performance indicators, and ability to push the quality bar higher.

• Ideal candidate has extensive experience developing in Salesforce including complex configuration activities, complex flows, visual force pages, apex classes, apex triggers, dynamic triggers, lightning components, canvas applications, etc. Salesforce certifications a plus
