Specific Job Summary

The Jahia Digital Experience Platform and Content Management System (CMS) is a foundational part of our digital strategy to facilitate improved communication with our customers enabling secure and efficient content management across our web and mobile channels. The CMS is deployed as an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-hosted Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution.

Primary Objective

The Content Management System (CMS) Administrator is a system engineer responsible for supporting the operation of the CMS Cloud, including but not limited to implementation and support for CMS features, custom developed and marketplace modules, creating and managing new instances/ environments and monitoring performance. The CMS administrator will own the repository, tree structure, user permissions, integrations, workflow, system and publishing configurations. This role is a key partner to the development team on the implementation and testing of code, roadmap of the CMS platform, and delivery of such, and maintenance and continuation of CMS best practices. The position is reporting to the Director IT DevOps & Automation. While this role focuses on the CMS system administration, this role will also be involved in other DevOps tasks.

The ideal candidate has experience as a CMS administrator with strong system automation skills. CMS administration experience can be substituted with system administration experience for web servers, application servers and other middleware servers, or other large, complex enterprise systems and a strong interest in web, mobile and content delivery platforms and technologies. Alternatively, candidates experienced as a Web and Content Developer with a strong interest in system administration, operation and automation should find this position challenging and rewarding.

Individual will be trained in Jahia platform and complete self-training available on Jahia academy.

Scope:

  • No direct reports.
  • Provides ongoing support and guidance on usage of the CMS.
  • Consults with and influences the development team, content team and CMS vendor in the ongoing operation of the CMS as well as for new development efforts.
  • Develops and implements build, deployment and system maintenance automations for the CMS and other applications
  • Implements standards that are consistent with the company direction.



 

Specific Expected Contributions

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance on usage of the CMS.
  • Address CMS administrative and operational issues in conjunction with the development team, the content team and the CMS vendor and service provider.
  • Manage the Cloud environment in which the CMS runs, interface with the CMS vendor/service provider to resolve environment related issues
  • Manage roles/permissions, workflow configurations and other aspects of the CMS.
  • Install new content modules and manage CMS upgrades, patch installations and configuration changes.
  • Perform backups and recoveries for the CMS system.
  • Perform continuous reviews of components, templates, config files and other important aspects of the CMS and the Cloud configuration for optimal use and best practices.
  • Regularly use the technical tools for the content management system and Cloud environment to achieve improved performance and security.
  • Remediate findings of internal and external security and vulnerability scans, including penetration and other tests of the CMS environment in partnership with other IT teams.
  • Together with the development and content team, develop and maintain training documentation and ongoing trainings for effective usage of the CMS to all users such as new feature utilization, template management, workflows, best practices, etc.
  • Identify and report on analytics regarding CMS usage and performance.
  • Participate in reviews for code, architecture, performance, etc. for the CMS platform.
  • Work closely with the development and content team to enhance CMS utilization.
  • Perform DevOps and Automation tasks for the CMS and other applications (CI/CD).

Specific Candidate Profile

Education

  • BS/BA degree (computer sciences, information systems preferred), technical certification, or equivalent work experience

Experience and Technologies

  • Strong CMS administration experience with Jahia or an equivalent CMS system such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or OpenText platforms (TeamSite, Documentum)
  • Experience with maintaining a CMS implementation, specifically around performance tuning, debugging and fixing issues, taking and understanding thread and heap dumps, knowledge of admin consoles
  • Experience with web server, application server and other middleware administration
  • Understanding of Cloud environments, Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred
  • Knowledge of implementing Web Content Authoring, Production, Configuration, Publishing, site architecture and integration with Web services (SOAP and REST)
  • Linux commands and shell scripting for developer and administration tasks
  • Familiarity with logging and system monitoring tools such as Splunk and DataDog
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, URL rewrites, REST, JSON, XML
  • Knowledge of Source Code Management systems such as Git and SVN
  • Experience with Continues Integration/Continues Deployment (CI/CD) tools, e.g. Jenkins
  • Knowledge of Artifact Repositories such as Nexus is a plus
  • Java and web development experience is a plus, experience with a Java Content Repository (JCR) implementation such as Apache Jackrabbit is a plus
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira/Bitbucket) is a plus
