Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specific knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under limited supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.

Specific Job Summary

The Treasury Analyst works under limited supervision supporting Global Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) treasury organization. Responsible for forecasts, executing payments, audits, analysis, and reports on the daily movement of cash generated from global business operations to meet MVW's liquidity and investment goals. The incumbent prepares, creates, and terminates bank accounts for global sites, corporate departments, and Condominium Owner Associations. In addition, assists site and corporate associates with routine cash management inquiries. The Analyst performs transactions in compliance with internal control policies and completes special projects as required to ensure continuous improvement of all cash management processes.

Supervises: N/A

Interacts with: Sr. Vice President level and below across many domestic and international departments of MVWC.

Vice President level and below with partner banks.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Supports current day cash position for corporate general depository account and corporate finance accounts to ensure available cash to fund Marriott Vacations Worldwide domestic daily wire and Automating Clearing House (ACH) payment requirements.
  • Reconciles cash transactions projected in the treasury workstation with bank account activity and releases transactions n for the automated accounting journal entry process managed by the cash accounting team. Work with cash accounting team to resolve any items posted to suspense.
  • Audits all daily wire and ACH payment requests from global sites and corporate departments for appropriate backup documentation and proper authorization approval prior to input into treasury workstation system.
  • Executes the initiation or release, but not both, of all wire and ACH transfers for MVWC domestic and international disbursements in the treasury workstation.
  • Process daily check and cash deposits.
  • Initiate settlement transfers for currency spot trades, currency hedging trades and transactions with trading partners' settlement team.
  • Process required documentation for BAI or SWIFT reporting and payment services between operating banks and treasury workstation.
  • Process new account requests for bank accounts from all domestic sites, corporate departments, and COAs by obtaining applicable internal approvals, preparing relevant legal documents, letters and signature cards and securing internal authorized signatories for such legal documents, letters, and signature cards.
  • Facilitate subsequent authorized signatory changes for corporate and site bank accounts.
  • Assists domestic sites and corporate departments in resolving routine problems and questions with operating banks.
  • Process requests to close MVWC domestic corporate, site, and Condominium Owner Association's (COA) bank accounts.
  • Assists Treasury Management Team in preparing documentation for opening bank accounts or any subsequent authorized signatory changes with foreign banks.
  • Maintains all wire and non-vendor approval authorizations on a current basis pursuant to MVWC Corporate policy.
  • Maintains detailed database of all domestic bank account information (account numbers, authorized signers, etc.), escrow accounts, merchant numbers and daily wire/ACH transaction information.
  • Routinely assists department leaders in daily departmental activities, domestic and international, as well as with special and long-term project initiatives.
  • Utilizes professional knowledge and skills to improve departmental controls and enhance continuous improvement of business processes.


Generic Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Usually a professional position with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or related experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

  • BS degree in Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) years' experience in treasury, accounting, banking or cash management
  • International cash management experience a plus
  • Experience in the timeshare industry beneficial
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and achieve goals in deadline driven conditions
  • Proven ability to pay attention to details in an environment of dynamic change
  • Intermediate levels of proficiency in Microsoft programs, e.g., Access, Excel, and Word
  • Proven track record of integrity and professional ethics
  • Effective communication skills to explain complex transactions in simple terms
  • Exceptional internal customer support and service orientation
  • Strong work planning, priority, and time management skills
