The Senior Manager, Architecture and Construction (A&C) Sales Center Development will report into the Director, Sales Center Development and provides direction based on specialist knowledge and skills in support of the design of MVW Sales properties. The Manager directs the design for all assigned projects from narrative and programming, through final concept design. This position collaborates with internal project management, and other departments as required to design Sales facilities for all MVW brands across the enterprise. The Manager is responsible for Sales Center Development (SCD) design approval and oversees or coordinates projects to ensure that MVW design principles are met and exceeded.
Expected Contributions
Design (Interior and Exterior)
- Manages projects at a senior design level; maintains and enforces MVW design and technical brand standards.
- Performs as the Designer Lead on Sales Development Team (SDT) projects across all brands, and all physical spaces within the MVW portfolio for new builds and renovations/conversions.
- Provides design document review of milestone document issues including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. Provides commentary to improve deliverables.
- Provides space planning, preliminary FF&E layouts, technical information, and plans related to business planning efforts, including interior Design and FF&E management.
- Reviews FF&E shop drawings for compliance with concept design work – provide critique as / when required.
- Implements global hospitality design trends into the MVW portfolio to keep our resorts and Sales Galleries at the cutting edge of design vernacular.
- Driving and maintaining A&D processes across all regional teams for consistent design and delivery management
- Catalogs and manages files for equipment and products used in the design, development, and delivery of Sales facilities. (Examples: Safes, Lockers, Hardware, Lighting, etc.)
- Maintain the Sales Development Team “Model” for each sales center in the delivery and business planning process. Update the model each year to list accurate sizing and planning data.
- Directs innovation and new ideas across brands that respects all aspects of MVWC.
Project Management
- Assist Project Managers as necessary to ensure the sales center is detailed correctly and efficiently, and the staff is fully equipped with materials (data, phone, office equipment) to do their job.
- Provide input on Front-of-House and Back-of-House requirements to project managers during the design process of the sales center.
- Assists SDT with planning of Executive Committee level presentations for Project Approvals when required.
- Provides guidance and recommendations for adjustments to the project managers and other leadership teams as required.
- Manages upwards with departments to re-prioritize projects / deliverables to accommodate change.
- Provides day to day guidance for advancing delivery of SDT projects.
Business Partnership
- Partner with the Architecture and Construction team, ensuring a seamless hand off after the design delivery stage.
- Play an integral role on the Sales Development Team, leading / or supporting Project Delivery, and Project Management Integration.
- Liaises with a wide cross section of internal and external partners including field and corporate Resort Operations and Marketing and Sales partners, and Centers of Excellence including F&A, Brand Advertising and Communications, Legal.
- Liaise with Marriott International on the design of resort lobbies, ensuring compliance with prevailing brand standards.
- Partners with various strategic planning teams including NPM Strategic Initiative, Feasibility and Business Planning and Asset Managers.
- Assume the role of Resort Operations liaison during key stages of a project.
A&D Operations Support
- Formulates and initiates unique design solutions for Brand level discussions.
- Reviews schedules and budgets for all assigned projects - accountable for schedule, scope and budget.
- Inspires design exploration in all forms.
- Promotes design concepts as an integral parameter of the development approval process.
- Participating in setting department operating plans.
- Provide coordination to SDT Architecture and Design for overall company strategy.
- Champion coordinated department design to senior manager.
- Assists in creation of action plans in coordination with sales, financial and operational partners.
- Lead / present video and conference calls across international time zones to mixed audiences.
- Visits Sales Gallery and resort sites, at appropriate time to become completely familiar with the site and to verify existing conditions.
- Physical ability to independently access construction sites.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or an accredited University, or international equivalency.
- Completion of Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) Certification would be an advantage.
- Professional registration is not required, but highly advised.
- Additional industry-related certifications are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of Hospitality related design post-graduation.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar position required.
- Experience directing the production of graphic materials and space planning to communicate design ideas and concepts.
- Hands-on platform experience on Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and/or other SFMC ecosystem platforms (i.e., Audience Studio-DMP, Datorama, Interaction Studio, etc.)
- Experience leading large full-lifecycle implementations and/or implementing integrated solutions including other SFMC ecosystem technologies, cloud-based marketing solutions, integration services and data modeling.
- Understanding or exposure to SFMC components (i.e., Audience Studio, Datorama, Interaction Studio, etc.).
- Experience with other marketing technologies and analytics tools (i.e., Adobe, Oracle, Sprinklr, Google, etc.).
- Knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud would be an advantage.
- Experience in leading SFMC implementations.
- Experience leading large teams (on- and off-shore) and technology engagements, including client and consulting staff.
- Experience with selling to C-level executives and other business development activities.
- Experience leading video and conference calls across international time zones.

- Fluent English communication competency – written, oral, electronic required; fluency in other languages is desirable.
