Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.

Job Summary

As a lead technical subject matter expert for IBM Integration Bus, DataPower, and Enterprise Orchestration integration systems and interfaces, this position manages operational support and maintenance through execution of predefined ITIL processes in accordance with established service levels. This position works closely with multiple vendors, business teams, and Information Resources teams, providing architectural knowledge and best practices. The individual will be a self-starter, able to work independently, required to establish and maintain processes, and work effectively with other groups to resolve technical issues. As a senior role, this position will be a key contributor to establishing and achieving team goals, supporting team leadership, promoting team development, and will recognize and capitalize on opportunities for continuous service improvement.

Expected Contributions

Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.

  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

- identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.

- providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.

- participating in setting department operating plans.

- recognizing and celebrating team successes.

- achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.
  •  Coordinate with Vendors, IR, and Business teams to ensure timely resolution for Incidents, Service Requests, and Problems related to software applications, data, and system availability and performance;
  • Coordinate with Vendors, IR and Business teams to request, review, approve, and ensure successful deployment of Changes and Releases;
  • Obtain thorough understanding of both the business logic and technologies (Software & Hardware) used in the applications;
  • Provide information about applications and interfaces to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Participate in security reviews, audits, assessments, and remediation;
  • Prepare and maintain operational support documentation;
  • Partner and provide assistance and work direction to aid other employees in their development;
  • Function as workgroup leader for a project team or function as a technical specialist;
  • Assess and provide timely feedback on associate's performance (as requested);
  • Performs analysis to provide technical solutions to business issues/enhancements.
  • Performs analysis, design, development, deployment, and training phases of solutions.
  • Provides support for disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
  • Participate in testing and new release rollout and support
  • Manages and develops mappings, scripts and schedules
  • Ensure adherence to standards e.g.: Processes, Security, Documentation standards
  • Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Create data extracts and data fixes, as needed.
  • Monitor system performance and implement efficiency improvements
  • Ensure that the applications are operational and perform according to business requirements.
  • Ensure that there is little to no system downtime.
  • Requires ability to work with team members to deliver on time and on budget committed results to customers.
  • Provide timely and accurate status updates to management.
  • Manage and communicate time and cost estimates of work to management
  • Assist the user community in understanding and usage of the data supported with the application.
  • Perform troubleshooting of end user components
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with evolving technology trends, methods and solutions.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all settings
  • Provide after-hours support as needed

Candidate Profile

  • Support for large Commercial Off the Shelf enterprise software systems
  • Strong analytical & diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with vendors, SLAs, product roadmaps, support lifecycles
  • SDLC methodologies, project management, etc.
  • Clear understanding of MVW business with an emphasis on Integration systems
  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation and customer service skills
  • Communications (Listening, Persuasiveness, Oral, Written), including technical diagramming
  • Leadership skills or leadership potential (Impact, Involvement, Change Management)
  • Agile learning style, with aptitude for quick pickup of technical material with limited documentation and training
  • People (Team Orientation, Judgment, Interpersonal Relations, Results/Goal Orientation, Resiliency/Adaptability)
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction and assistance in all technical areas
  • Demonstrated ability to accept personal accountability and ownership for areas of responsibility. Pursue solutions and make decisions using expert judgment.

  • Excellent Communications skills


  • BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent training or experience
  • J2EE Web Component Development Certification preferred
  • ITIL Certified, PMI PMP Certified helpful


  • 8+ years extensive experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and related quality control processes as well as leading technology projects and/or support teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in the vacation ownership timeshare industry and/or relevant customer servicing industries.
  • Broad and deep technical background - able to analyze, troubleshoot, configure various technologies
  • Experience with all phases of SDLC
  • Prefer experience in IBM Information Bus , Nexus, Enterprise Orchestration, Informatica, Open Text Integration Center and Pentaho Data Integration.
