Job Title: Purchasing Trainee

Department: Purchasing

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

Working Relationships: Director of Operations or F&B Manager in regards to operations issues

F&B and Marketplace Manegers/Supervisors and Resort Department Heads.

I.) Overall Responsibilities:

  • Assists Resort in all aspects of purchasing to ensure quality and profitability.
  • Receives and inspects all deliveries.
  • Maintains inventory controls for proper levels, dating, rotation, requisitions, etc..
  • Assures sanitation compliance according to 39-point checklist.
  • Interacts with outlet staff/management and vendors.

II.) Job Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Be a good team player.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish and English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred.

III.) Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains sufficient goods stock level for daily operations.
  • Verifies that all entering goods from vendors are in accordance with Marriott's sanitation and quality standards.
  • Ensures proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Ensures proper hygiene and cleanliness off all food areas.
  • Be knowledgeable of C-7 sheet and spillage sheet.
  • Ensures proper inventory handling and proper adherence to stock control procedures.
  • Coordinate F&B inventory taken for accounting closings.
  • Participate on F&B meeting when it is required.
  • Produce monthly Purchasing report, distributing it to F&B Managers and Executive team.
  • Attends Communication Meetings, in order to help on Resort work coordination.

IV.) Check list

Exchange empty bottles for full ones on the daily basic.

Receiving vendor

Cleanliness the dry store, freezer

Label of the items we receive.

Updating inventories

Updating curve of price.

V.)Physical Job Requirements:

  • Walking and working outside air controlled areas.
  • Lifting up to 35 kg.
  • Good general health condition.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all time.

The Marriott Resort functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an associate from their accustomed shifts as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business determines the amount of hours that are worked, and that some weeks may be scheduled at less than 40 hours, and other weeks at more than 40 hours.
