JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: HOUSEKEEPING GUARDIA

DEPARTMENT: HOUSEKEEPING

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assisting the Housekeeper Managers and supervisors in achieving the overall performance standards of the property in areas of cleanliness and sanitation.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:



Reports to: Housekeeping Managers and Supervisors.

Supervises: Housekeeping Staff and overall cleanness of common areas.

Interfaces: MVCI associates and guests.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring safe work practices and conditions within the department.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanness of all common areas.
  • Responsible for delivering services to the apartments when needed.
  • To insure that the department is following the internal procedures and Marriott policies.
  • Interact with guests complains and needs.
  • Responsible for following up all Human Resources programs.
  • Follow up and control on the lost & found procedure of the resort.
  • Control all deliveries to the department when needed.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • • Fluent Spanish and good command of spoken English

  • • Basic school degree.

  • • Ability to work with housekeeping groups of 5 or more

  • • Ability to coordinate multiple activities

  • • Ability to interact with guests and employees

  • • Detail oriented and must possess strong organizational skills

  • • Good communication skills.
  • Self motivated and good team player.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent bending, kneeling and stooping, lifting up to 20kg, climbing ladders and up to 5 floors of stairs
  • Good visual observation.
  • Resistance to inclement weather conditions (heat and humidity)
  • Calm and cool temper, excellent command of stress in cases of emergency
  • Walking and working outside of air controlled areas.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department or as instructed by Management.

OTHER:

  • Be punctual and wear the name tag and uniform at all times during working hours.
  • Perform all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
  • Comply with MVCI and Marriott International polices and procedures.
  • Be proactive and have a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.
  • Maintain an attitude and commitment to provide excellent service to all customers and associates. Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status or position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott product lines.
  • Maintain computer systems knowledge (MS Office, e-mail etc)
  • Work with all MVCI colleagues as a team, supporting the needs within that team
