Job Summary

The MVW Law Department provides legal support and legal services to all aspects of the Company's business.

MVW is looking for an experienced paralegal to join the Law Department's eCommerce, Information Technology, Intellectual Property and Privacy team. This position assists attorneys and others with information technology, privacy, data security, eCommerce, intellectual property and related matters in the context of commercial contracts and transactions, compliance activities and governance functions by performing a variety of law-related tasks under the direction of an attorney, including maintenance, revision and utilization of template contracts and related materials; performing and maintaining records of substantive legal research; drafting, reviewing and analyzing complex legal documents; evaluating proposed online and traditional commercial activities; preparing business communications; responding to routine inquiries; managing periodic certifications; and performing related duties. This position typically works under moderate supervision of an attorney. The ideal candidate has top-notch paralegal skills and experience in technology and privacy or a genuine interest, desire, and ability to develop that expertise.

Expected Contributions

  • Provide support to and participate in the preparation, review, execution and organization of commercial contracts and associated materials with particular attention to information technology, privacy, data security, eCommerce, intellectual property and related considerations, including application to all MVW business lines and all MVW corporate service and support functions.
  • Perform research, reporting and analysis relating to laws, regulations, industry standards and company policies concerning information technology, privacy, eCommerce, intellectual property and related matters.
  • Review, update and identify issues presented by, and provide guidance relating to the application of, website terms of use, privacy policies, and social media platform rules.
  • Provide support to and participate in the review and update of company policies and procedures relating to information technology, privacy, data security, eCommerce, intellectual property and related areas.
  • Maintain and continue to develop a working knowledge of legal and business developments relevant to the company and the travel and hospitality industry, particularly in areas impacted by information technology, privacy, data security, eCommerce, intellectual property and related considerations.
  • Assist with maintaining, updating and distributing various status reports.
  • Consult with and direct files to appropriate associate when issues arise outside of the scope of his or her responsibility or experience.
  • Create and maintain paper and computer files of correspondence and documents.
  • Assist with training new associates, as requested.
  • Assist in gathering information and resolving issues with clients.
  • Interact regularly with IT Services Procurement, IT Security, Privacy Office, Human Resources, Risk Management, Owner Services, Resort Operations, and Sales and Marketing Departments.
  • Interact with outside entities (e.g., outside legal counsel, service providers, and government agencies) to gather information, documentation or data.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Four-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience.
  • Three or more years of paralegal or equivalent experience in a law firm, corporate law department, or government agency.
  • Corporate or commercial transactions, including information technology and privacy experience preferred, but not required for the right person with top-notch paralegal skills and the interest, desire, and ability to develop technology and privacy expertise.
  • Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program helpful, but not required.
  • General familiarity with and comfort acquiring further knowledge of technical terminology and concepts presented in the consideration of legal issues in the context of information technology, services and security, personal data privacy, social media, eCommerce, and intellectual property.
  • Excellent employment record and references.
