Job Summary/Expected Contributions

As a member of the professional staff of the Marriott Vacations Worldwide ("MVW" or the "Company") Law Department, the primary responsibilities of this position are:

  • Work closely with MVW's Information Technology Department ("IT") to act as the Law Department's contact for software acquisition, software upgrades, application training, and day-to-day end user assistance for computers, software, printers, copiers, scanners, telephone and voicemail systems, video conferencing and AV setup and takedown services, and system setups and moves.
  • Assist with Law Department-related software development, customization, and implementation initiatives, including scoping, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Assist with the implementation, upgrade and improvement of third-party applications, including iManage, GaLexy, SharePoint, Workshare and other systems and tools utilized by the Law Department.
  • Provide technology and process training for members of MVW's Law Department, including new hire training.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with Law Department practice groups and IT functions across the Company to support Law Department information technology systems and applications.
  • Assist the Law Department's Litigation & Compliance practice group to collect, preserve and produce electronically stored information in litigation and investigative matters.
  • Manage legal technology vendor relationships, including continued assessment of value delivered against value sold.
  • Provide budgetary assistance for the Law Department's software, applications and equipment needs.
  • Manage and administer the records retention process and procedure established for the Law Department.
  • Create and maintain various status reports.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel -- Litigation & Compliance.
Candidate Profile
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or certificate in technology, or equivalent qualifying work experience.
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of technical desktop application support experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environment, or a minimum of 7 years of experience providing technical support or technology project delivery management experience.
  • Proven experience working with multiple third-party applications and development and/or customization .
  • Experience with interpreting system detail design documents and system testing.
  • Familiarity with legal and compliance applications and services (e.g., contract management, matter management/e-billing, document management systems) preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery preferred.
