Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with business strategies, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, managing own organization through reliable systems and processes, and producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process. 




Specific Job Summary (describe the nature and purpose of the position)

Performs work directly related to portfolio processing requiring the regular exercise of discretion and judgement.  This position operates under general supervision to complete a variety of processes and projects.  Responsible for direct management of portfolio services tasks, processes, and associates.  Participation in special projects, enhancement testing, and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities)

  • Lead and direct the portfolio services associates via training, performance management, scheduling/payroll management, and associate engagement. 
  • Serve as technical expert on all Financial Services portfolio servicing matters.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiencies and risk avoidance.
  • Ensure all tasks are in compliance with SOX narratives, and variances and issues are resolved timely.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in PCI and PII compliant.
  • Manages control procedures related to global loan and daily balancing, reconciliation, audit requests, maintenance fee funds transfers, payment postings, research and adjustments, returns and refunds, and administrative processes as assigned.
  • Partner with Sr. Manager and other Portfolio Services managers to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals within Portfolio Services.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Create, Update, and maintain department SOPs and job aids.




Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position with specific knowledge and experience in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology) as well as associate management experience.  College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile (the education, experience, skills and attributes that are important for this position)

  • BA/BS preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, audit, payment processing, or financial services preferred.
  • Previous experience managing and directing hourly associates including: training, performance management, scheduling/payroll and associate engagement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge of advanced Excel skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively – written and verbal – using clear, appropriate, and professional language
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and various departments
