Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.


Job Summary

Overall responsibility for the effective development and implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) processes. Ensures that all IR products and services meet IR standards and user requirements. Oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes across multiple, complex projects in a multi -- vendor environment. Defines quality assurance compliance standards and manages the compliance reporting system.


  • Provide direct QA services, by Service Line, in overall test management, defect management and audit while providing Change Management support
  • Develops quality assurance processes for Marriott Vacations Worldwide-developed and COTS applications.
  • Provides Change Management support as a liaise between the Change Manager and the Service Line directorates
  • Reviews system specifications and documentation at appropriate points in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Performs validation on all delivered artifacts to ensure all specifications and business requirements are satisfied

Expected Contributions

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

- identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.

- providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.

- achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Incorporates industry software quality assurance standards and tools into the Marriott Vacations Worldwide environment
  • Ensure the integrity of the deliverables and artifacts for test management to include requirements traceability, test plans, test case design, evaluation of test results and UAT coordination.
  • Ensure the integrity of the deliverables and artifacts for defect management to include the management and facilitation of the process, reporting and risk management
  • Maintain required documentation and produce and deliver all required Change Management and testing audit evidence related to PCI and SOX audits
  • Provide CM support in the areas of application support and maintenance as well as Urgent Change coordination
  • Reviews functional and technical requirements, specifications, and documentation at appropriate points in the SDLC
  • Communicates and manages defects between the client and development organizations
  • Keeps abreast of timelines and impacts to project plans from an overall quality perspective
  • Implements QA processes in support of change management processes
  • Writes and executes test plans to validate functionality and data integrity of applications and system changes
  • May recommend/evaluate new testing tools/processes.

Candidate Profile

 Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Education: BS/BA degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience
