Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives.  Generally works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks. 

The Manager Analyst II position supports the development and delivery of all Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) Inventory & Revenue Management (IRM) systems and enhancements to existing technology for the IRM Market Execution organization.

Provides consistent and superior technical support to the end users of our Revenue Management applications.

Additionally, this position supports the design, development and delivery of business solutions for IRM.

Specific Contributions – describes overview of the responsibility; what will they be held accountable for  

  • Provides consistent and superior technical support and systems fixes by employing troubleshooting strategies that surface system issues and application and/or process issues.
  • Responsible for supporting Quality Control process to ensure systems are operating as designed.   Conducts analysis, identifies and provides solutions to support optimization of system usage.    
  • Acquires and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of all business applications and source data, as well as their data extracts, in order to effectively identify causes of data discrepancies and understand if the fix must be handled in the source system or as a modification, e.g. table mapping, within IRM systems.
  • Acts as an effective technical resource to the end user, able to provide explanations of system defects, propose solution recommendations to stakeholders. Assists with implementation of solutions in existing applications.
  • Maintains data integrity to include reliability, accuracy, robustness, ease of access and security.
  • Effectively identifies cause of issue and determines appropriate technical solutions.
  • Maintains documentation of system enhancements, modifications and data uploads. 
  • Provides and maintains specific explanation of originating issue, system fix, and answers for “FAQ” (Frequently Asked Questions) documentation.
  • Functions as a technical resource for other team members.
  • Assists in preparation of documents to be used for programming projects.  Work may include assisting with specific process and query documentation, as well as flowcharts showing interdependencies between systems.
  • Makes recommendations of which on-going requests should be moved into long-term application solutions for internal customers.
  • Supports IRM corporate and field associates by providing system defect analyses. 
  • Assists in supporting the IRM Training & Field Support team with ad-hoc technical guidance.
  • Proactively updates all project stakeholders on current issues, milestones and events during application programming/enhancement activities. 
  • Works within team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Continuously improves IRM’ s inventory systems for all internal customers by remaining current on new technology, researching reasonable options and when appropriate. 
  • Regularly reviews priorities; as appropriate, re-establishes goals and/or priorities as business needs/ objectives change.
  • Proactively anticipates and surfaces any obstacles that could impede productivity and effectiveness to the appropriate resource.
  • Responsible for audits and escalating any identified challenges to leaders and external vendors. 
  • Assists in writing, testing and supporting once systems are implemented; will serve as subject matter expert.
  • Proactively partners with IRM team members to improve/solve systems experience usage and trains/upskill as appropriate
  • Supports in providing stakeholders with on-going activity and resolution reporting.  Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Supports in identifying trends in system and application questions, concerns and/or requests. 
  • Identifies opportunities to mitigate or eliminate duplication via communication and/or training and surface with appropriate stakeholders
  • Complies with MVW and Marriott International (MI) policies and procedures.
  • Is proactive and has a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ professional experience.
  • Timeshare or Hospitality experience preferred
  • Change management tracking.
  • Knowledgeable in test and development environments
  • Experience in some related aspect of operational support for 1-2 years.
  • Supporting business applications in production, test and training preferred.
