JOB SUMMARY 

This position's primary function is to provide administrative and customer support for property sales associates. The incumbent acts as a one stop shop for group organizers to address amenities such as golf, spa, retail, concessions, restaurants, etc that may not be part of the core group program.

JOB SPECIFIC TASKS

The Golf Sales Coordinator has responsibility for all the sales of amenities as well as the coordination with other departments.

Overall, the position is responsible for the following: 

  • Contact all in-house groups prior to arrival to sell and coordinate golf, golf amenities, retail amenities, on-course concessions, restaurant reservations, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the needs of the group.
  • Act as liaison between Sales Office and Property Sales to check golf availability and contract golf groups.
  • Attend all site inspections, pre-planning visits and pre-con meetings.
  • Proactive sales calls to all groups turned definite that have not yet secured golf.
  • Golf contact for all Event managers' golf requests, etc.
  • Responsible for providing weekly up to date/accurate on the books reports
  • Responsible for definite contracts turnover process (agreements, deposits, etc to accounting -- tournament file to tournament office for event execution)
  • Responsible for retail sales to in house groups
  • Responsible for group concession sales to all golf groups
  • Account tracking and reporting.
  • Professional handling of team member and other internal stakeholder requests.
  • Professional handling of customer requests.
  • Compiling data and creating reports from Marriott internal data sources (e.g., MRDW, SFA, MarRFP database).
  • Provide SFA support including data input and report generation, as required.
  • Communicate with internal/external customers as directed.
  • Other administrative support responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the administrative assistance, clerical services, or related professional area.

OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.

 Skills and Knowledge

  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Management of Financial Resources - Accounting for these expenditures.
  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
  • Job Specific Computer Skills - Using computer hardware and software specific to job (e.g., MARSHA, PMS, SFA, NGS, Delphi, Point of Sale, HR technology).
  • Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
  • Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
  • Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Originality - The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about products, services or situations, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
  • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.
