Band Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.

Specific Job Summary

Responsible for providing analysis, design, preparation and ongoing support for new digital systems/technology to be implemented for Sales, Marketing and Service teams companywide. This role also performs and supports the development and delivery of digital enhancements to existing systems/technology, both inside the department and enterprise --wide to Sales, Marketing and Service teams. The Manager will also monitor system performance to help identify system issues and application process issues and collaborates with the department's IT partners to develop digital solutions to those issues. Also, responsible to maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all source data within the deployed applications. This role also has responsibility for managing the documentation of business processes and requirements, identifying and implementing process changes to help teams become more effective at using the digital systems/technology.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Helps establish guidelines for Requirements and Use Case/User Story documentation and management.
  • Provides the digital process view and functional requirements to new or managed systems, inclusive of the creation of business requirements and the related traceability documentation, Use Case documentation following defined standards and best practice methodologies, and documentation of Functional and Nonfunctional Requirements and related performance metrics
  • Coordinate or directly contribute to business planning and modeling activities such as Current State "As Is" Analysis, Future State "To Be" Analysis, Business Context/Problem Statement and Stakeholder Analysis
  • Assist in defining the scope, high-level requirements, and related Business Case for Sales, Marketing and Service IT-related Projects
  • Manage the requirements gathering efforts in a digital systems/technology Requirement's Phase
  • Manage the development of key project deliverables such as Business Process Maps, Business Requirements, Business Rules, Use Cases and Features/User Stories
  • Assist in assessing the delivery and acceptability of digital solutions in support of stated business requirements
  • Continuously strive to meet Performance Excellence standards through facilitating strong partnerships within department, Corporate and Field Sales, Marketing and Service teams through teamwork, communications, and process-based analysis and quality validation reinforcement
  • Perform responsibilities in a productive work environment which promotes collaboration in the areas of business, technical and quality requirements definition, supported by continual improvement
  • Plans and coordinates complex implementations (any mix of the following: multiple technical environments/multiple locations/multiple functions) based on business needs overseeing quality control of systems functional design and implementation, client operations design and implementation, and client training and conversion
  • Analyzes the business unit organization to identify business issues, strengths and weaknesses in order to identify appropriate digital technology solutions
  • Functions as a key liaison with business stakeholders for IT projects to ensure project specifications as defined through the Business Requirements documentation is understood and approved for subsequent development
  • Works closely with Sales, Marketing and Service leaders to define project plan tasks
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, development team(s) and the test team(s) to ensure that User Acceptance Test Plans and Test Cases satisfy all of the stated requirements
  • Acquires and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of all business applications used and /or supported in order to effectively identify causes of data discrepancies and understand if the fix must be handled in the source system or as a modification
  • Proactively follows-up with internal stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and realized.
  • Provides technical guidance by proactively surfacing opportunities for system and process enhancements.
  • Documents system enhancements, system modifications, and data uploads. Provides specific explanation of originating issue, system fix, and answers for "FAQ" (Frequently Asked Questions).
  • Functions as a technical resource for other team members.
  • Functions as the liaison between business and technical users when preparing documentation to be used for programming projects. This work may include specific process and query documentation as well as flowcharts showing interdependencies between systems and databases.
  • Supports the Sales, Marketing and Service teams with ad-hoc technical guidance and documentation input on all business applications to ensure training documents accurately reflect both the desired business process and the workflow within the application(s).
  • Proactively updates Sales, Marketing and Service leaders on current issues, milestones and events during application programming/enhancement activities.
  • Alerts Sales, Marketing and Service leaders of major challenges, risks and potential obstacles to departmental goals and objectives so that alternative solutions can be found ahead of time.
  • Addresses and follows-up on all project dependencies and associated tasks to ensure that deliverables are achieved as quickly as possible and with the minimum risk to the business.
