POSITION: Animator



Reports to: Activities Supervisor, Activities Manager

Interfaces with: Guests, Department Heads, Associates, Suppliers


To conduct energetic and fun activities which meet and exceed Owners and Guests expectation and to provide an outstanding Vacation Experience within their Holiday Ownership.


  • Fluent in Spanish and English. A third European Language a plus.
  • Good computer literacy and organization skills.
  • Professional experience in similar related fields; activities, events, etc.
  • Certified fitness class instructor
  • First Aid Course
  • Creative thinking.
  • Good physical shape.


  • Conduct all types of resort activities, including supervision of the Kid's Club.
  • Organizing parties and events at resort as required.
  • Training department associates on a group basis to run activities with guests.
  • Checking that safety and hygiene standards are maintained and equipment is used correctly in all recreation areas -- involves physically checking all areas.
  • Conduct several fitness activities per day.
  • Conduct social activities.
  • Conduct cultural activities.
  • Conduct Kids related Activities
  • Conduct activities for all age groups.
  • Provide first aid to guests if lifeguard is not present.
  • Should be responsible for keeping up to date and learning new activities.


  • Provide assistance to all departments if staffing levels require.
  • To perform all reasonable tasks as required by Resort Management and business demands.


  • Should be able to conduct several high intensity activities during one shift.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling and stooping, lifting up to 10kg, climbing ladders and up to 5 floors of stairs
  • Good visual observation.
  • Resistance to inclement weather conditions (heat and humidity)
  • Calm and cool temper, excellent command of stress in cases of emergency
  • Walking and working outside of air controlled areas.


  • Perform all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor and management.
  • Comply with MVCI and Marriott International polices and procedures.
  • Be proactive and have a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.
  • Maintain an attitude and commitment to provide excellent service to all customers and associates. Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status or position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott product lines.
  • Maintain computer systems knowledge (MS Office, email etc)
  • Work with all MVCI colleagues as a team, supporting the needs within that team and those of the business at all times
