Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives. Responsible for selection, supervision and development of staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Specific Job Summary

The Sr. Director, Initiative Delivery has responsibility for maintaining an enterprise view of cross-process Initiatives and facilitating the appropriate Initiative management and governance of that work for the Initiative Delivery Office (IDO) and Asset Management (AM). This encompasses all of the processes required to successfully plan and deliver Initiatives and Projects including demand planning, budgeting, resource management, requirements management, risk management, project cost estimation and management, project schedule estimation and management, project communication and reporting, vendor delivery management, quality assurance and benefits realization.

This position has responsibility for day-to-day aspects of Initiative Delivery including, program level planning, execution and delivery of cross-process improvements along with the utilization of tools and techniques to achieve stated business objectives including but not limited to cost savings, revenue enhancement, product line expansion, and channel optimization.

The Sr. Director, Initiative Delivery is required to have a broad, systemic understanding of all operating and financial aspects of the Initiative Delivery, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, associate engagement and inventory availability for sale and use. This position will also track, measure, monitor reports and drive performance across processes within MVCI (including Marketing Sales & Service, Resort Operations, Product Supply Management, Development, Feasibility, and the enabling processes) and with external parties to ensure Initiatives achieve their stated objectives

Specific Expected Contributions

This position is responsible for leading and facilitating across multiple process disciplines in support of key business initiatives. This individual manages resources and processes to deliver high quality business driven projects and initiatives for MVW. This position is responsible to collaborate with many facets of the MVW business and technical organization, as well as 3rd party vendors with a high sense of urgency and a focus on excellence and results.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to the VP of Trust and Exchange Operations in planning and delivery for initiatives required to drive success for MVW.
  • Support the delivery of business initiatives to the field and corporate process areas, including assisting with business process definition, requirements development, UAT activities and other operational support needs as appropriate.
  • Work with and interact with many roles in the organization from Senior Leadership to the various process stakeholders and support teams.
  • Provide day to day leadership and planning for business focused, time sensitive, initiatives focused on effective and efficient delivery.
  • Lead and manage multiple complex, large scale projects consisting of multiple internal and vendor resources
  • Assist leadership with oversight of program/project milestones and deliverables
  • Provide ownership and involvement in multiple streams of work simultaneously.
  • Facilitate, plan and lead work efforts, including cross-departmental teams and outside vendors, to implement business led process design, requirements and project delivery. This includes:
    • Utilize strong program and project governance and delivery skills -- initiation, planning, execution, status reporting, financials, stakeholder management, resource management.
    • Identify risks/issues that would impact business, identify appropriate mitigation strategy and assist with successful execution to ensure minimal impact to the global business operations
    • Ensure collaboration, integration and adherence to processes and governance in accordance with MVW and external standards on key business initiatives.
    • Ensure process design and requirements standards and process are developed, enforced and communicated
    • Ensures traceability from Business Requirements development through delivery.
    • Provide a leadership role in developing and maintaining productive relationships with key clients, stakeholders and technology partners to facilitate cross organizational communications, coordination and transparency.
  • Coordinate work effort across cross functional and global business teams
  • Provide leadership for team in working with testing, deployment and change management in the deployment of projects or new technology.
  • Provide leadership to team to ensure a smooth transition to the operational support teams.
  • Work with MVW executive management to prepare budgets and monitor progress against budget targets.
  • Provide MVW executive management with status updates regarding progress towards objectives.

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations and associate management. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile

 Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent operations/project initiative management experience required.

 Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of operations/initiative management delivery experience.
  • Experience in a managerial role as an operations leader and managing of managers
  • Experience operating at the regional level is preferred.
  • Experience working across organizational disciplines.

Skills

  • Strong analysis and consulting skills with the ability to interface with senior business leaders.

  • Solid measurement skills related to assessment of information, initiatives and strategies.
