Generic Position Summary 

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives.

Specific Job Summary

The Senior Manager, IT Portfolio & Program Management supports and partners with key stakeholders within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to ensure all governance and portfolio management processes/management routines are effectively executed. This role supports all corporate functions globally.

Portfolio Management includes all facets of prioritization, planning, budgeting, forecasting, estimation, resource management, and executive reporting as it relates to technology related projects and programs.

This position will interact with various levels of management and be required to effectively partner and collaborate to optimize performance and delivery of the technology portfolio. The Senior Manager will assess the performance of the portfolio in terms of delivery trends, variance analysis to plan, risk identification and mitigation, and value realization.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Manages the project portfolio pipeline process from initiation through deployment by effectively partnering with PMO Leads, Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), Enterprise Architecture (EA), and other key IT stakeholders to ensure all deliverables and governance management routines are completed. 
  • Partner to coordinate high level, critical project delivery milestones with BRMs and PMO Leads to manage expectations on projected delivery dates managing critical path items across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for maintaining metrics and status/milestones for technology projects and preparing varying levels of executive reporting.
  • Updates and maintains the IT investment plan for all technology spending projections over the long-range plan five-year horizon.
    • Provide visibility of projects driven by security, compliance, audit, or other organizational priorities
    • Maintain project pipeline and track timing of deliverables and key artifacts
  • Assist in assessing technology demand across enterprise and drive optimized resource allocations to achieve desired outcome.
  • Assist PMO Leads in effectively forecasting project spending based upon estimate assumptions on monthly basis.
  • Partner with PMO Leads/Project Managers (PMs) in developing project plans, schedules, work break-down schedules (WBS), etc. to ensure completeness and accuracy for current state.
  • Create visibility of inter-project/program interdependencies to ensure success and timely execution of the technology portfolio
  • Manage the streamlining and consolidating reporting produced by tower (i.e., scorecards, executive steering committee (ESC) presentations, forecasting templates, and resource allocations across the IT towers) to ensure consistency and visibility to performance.
  • Partner and assist with the development of best practice management processes and lessons learned to make recommendations
  • Perform related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required.

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate and/or organizational management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Education

  • BS/BA degree required in Information Technology, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) preferred.

Experience

  • Five to seven years' experience of relevant experience in a combination of the above fields and IT positions.
