Position Summary
As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Resort Operations, Sales & Marketing etc.) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives.
The Manager, NATO IRM Support Team reports to the Corporate Associate Director, IRM NATO Support Team and supports the inventory optimization and revenue maximization for North America for all brands. This role manages the day-to-day activities of the IRM Support Team, helps identify process efficiencies, assists in determining necessary process changes to maximize revenues and inventory, ensures consistent application of approaches across 10 sub-regions, provides input to Senior Leaders for change management, and ensures accurate inventory coordination and support for the revenue managers and on-site teams. The Manager supports the Corporate Associate Director by helping determine effective execution strategies to achieve the larger goals, overseeing wholesale reservations activity in support of Rental Marketing strategies, overseeing day to day execution of determined strategies, and ensuring a mutually beneficial working relationship with the revenue managers they support. In their responsibility for overseeing all coordinator tactical activities associated with the optimization of inventory and maximization of revenue across NATO, they ensure all tasks associated with the Coordinator Standardization are completed properly and timely for each region to ensure maximization of inventory, revenues, and deliverables are achieved.
Responsibilities also include monitoring and maintaining a specified level of service and professionalism within the respective Inventory & Revenue Management support team to ensure proper understanding of all IRM philosophies, and accurate and timely execution and ongoing management of departmental processes. This position is responsible for setting the appropriate direction for their direct reports, including setting individual goals, and establishing priorities, to ensure that the business objectives for Marriott Vacations Worldwide and Inventory & Revenue Management are consistently achieved.

Expected Contributions
- Provide recommendations to improve effectiveness of inventory management processes.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for site Operations Leaders (GM, Dir. Ops), Front Office Managers, and Regional Directors Revenue Mgmt. regarding inventory support processes, training, and forecasting.
- Reviews, analyzes, and takes ownership of problem resolution with Resort Leadership where inventory practices onsite are negatively impacting the business.
- Completes and analyses weekly forecast process and provides required reporting to internal stakeholders by due date.
- Helps identify and provide recommendations for opportunities to increase revenues and decrease costs, preempting problems before they impact our business, anticipating future trends.
- Works with Corporate Associate Director, IRM NATO Support Team to ensure Inventory & Revenue Management Coordinators attain proper understanding of all Revenue & Inventory Management philosophies, accurate and timely execution, and ongoing management of departmental processes.
- Effectively communicates IRM philosophies to appropriate stakeholders as they pertain to recommended inventory strategies.
- Proactively develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships.
- Positions process change across NATO appropriately with Revenue Managers to gain buy off and facilitates roll outs.
- Promotes and protects MVCI brand equity.
- As requested, complete the appropriate steps and commands to effectively authorize inventory from MARSHA.
- Proactively inform Corporate Associate Director IRM Support Team, Regional Director, and appropriate Resort Inventory and Revenue Manager of any negative trends and/or areas of improvement
- Acquire and maintain the appropriate level of knowledge and expertise on the resorts property management system and impact to data residing within MARSHA.
- Supports collaboration with site front office leaders to ensure inventory and reservation related data remains consistently balanced within both systems.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of existing data within the business and/or procure the required data on a timely basis to ensure that the immediate needs of our internal customers can be met consistently.
- As requested, participate in the training and development of new IRM associates that may not directly work in your assigned department. Also provide job shadowing opportunities to internal stakeholders who are interested in learning about inventory and revenue management.
- Participate in community service events sponsored by MVW to build teamwork and enhance community relationships such as Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).
- Supports on-going effective communication is taking place in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicate expectations, recognize performance, and produce desired business results.
- Be an active participant at site Front Office meetings at minimum bi-annually or as requested by Corporate Associate Director, IRM NATO Support Team.
- Utilize the tools and resources available to effectively interview and hire management and hourly associates possessing the required skills to meet the business needs of the operation.
- Effectively implement all available training according to specified standard to ensure that associates receive the tools and resources required to do their jobs.
- Administer the performance appraisal process for direct report managers. Develops business goals and creates appropriate development plans. Assists associates based on their individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensure associates do the same within the team.
- Actively solicit associate feedback, utilize an “open door” policy, and review associate satisfaction results to identify and address associate problems or concerns. Ensures associates are treated fairly and equitably.
- Manages associate progressive discipline procedures for areas of responsibility. Ensure policies are administered fairly and consistently. Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures.
- Celebrate successes and publicly recognize the contributions of team members; ensure recognition is taking place across areas of responsibility.
- Effectively execute all short- term plans to support long term goals.
- Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of each on-site Leadership team member and each of their direct reports. Determine each of the stakeholders by site.
- Create an environment where associates are encouraged to voice their opinions and surface ideas for improvement.
- Ensure that all files and filing is kept up to date to facilitate immediate follow up to stakeholder requests and questions.
- Ensure the workplace is kept neat and free of clutter. Avoid any unsafe work practices.
- Ensure that daily checklists are maintained, updated as needed and utilized on a daily basis by the appropriate associate. Follow-up to validate that task are being competed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Enable team of associates to be successful by proactively anticipating and removing the obstacles that could impede their productivity and effectiveness.
- Consistently achieve MVW and IRM business objectives by setting the direction for the team, developing individual goals, defining priorities and when appropriate, reestablish individual goals and/or priorities as business needs and objectives change.

Candidate Profile
Education
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in related area (economics, finance, statistics etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years professional management experience with a minimum of two (2) years Inventory & Revenue Management experience preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year leading and managing teams.
- Experience with MVW Revenue Management processes & systems preferred.
Skills/Attributes
- A minimum of intermediate proficiency in all Microsoft Suites applications.
- Proven ability to gather the required information to analyze trends and surface possible solutions.
- Highly developed and effective verbal and written communication skills.
