Specific Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Events, the Manager, Communications is primarily responsible for the development, execution, and management of Interval’s internal and external communications function. The Manager builds strong working relationships and works cross-functionally to maintain a pulse on business developments and priorities and advises senior leaders on effective ways to deliver external and internal messages to target audience groups.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Manages content strategy, consistent messaging, and connectivity to brand strategy for client-facing communication channels.
  • Develops external corporate communications including press releases, blog posts, and other collateral. Identifies media opportunities and associated pitches. Participates in overall Public Relations (PR) planning and strategy ideation.
  • Drafts briefing docs for executives and senior leaders in advance of speaking opportunities and media interviews.
  • Develops and implements internal communications plans around large scale internal corporate events, such as organization announcements, major member-facing events, and new business developments.
  • Adjusts communication plans and content strategy based on the needs of the business.
  • Maintains a comprehensive regional calendar of national and regional programs.
  • Creates scalable communications templates, which the regional marketing team can use for the planning, execution, optimization, and reporting of local or endemic projects.
  • Manages activities associated with Interval’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and activities.
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested.

Specific Candidate Profile


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.

Related Work Experience

  • Four to seven years of communications experience either in-house or with an agency delivering corporate and/or executive communications and external client facing communications.
  • Track record of developing and delivering against communications plans.
  • Cross functional communications knowledge and experience with solid copywriting and editing skills as well as experience in digital content generation to complement our marketing and owned platforms efforts.
  • Media relations experience preferred.
  • Experience in a matrix structured organization preferred.

Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver successful outcomes from communications activities from conceptualization, development, and execution of communications plans.
  • Proven project management skills to coordinate the creation of multiple key deliverables at the same time in a methodical and rigorous manner.
  • Ability to remain comfortable with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong presentation skills with consistency and accuracy, and outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Proven advisory skills to provide clear, concise thinking with sufficient confidence to deliver meaningful communications advice to senior leaders.
  • Computer literacy on Microsoft Office products, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • Understands how to manage in a culturally diverse work environment.
