This position will be responsible for maximizing revenue and profit through directing, managing, and executing best revenue management practices within the Multi-Channel Distribution System. The position is also responsible for providing day-to-day strategic guidance to the RDM support specialists, RDM’s focus resorts and GMs in strategizing and executing the appropriate optimization tactics for maximizing revenue and profits. This position will work closely with the VP of RDM to introduce and develop analytics environment and support for quantitative measurements on business functional areas (Sales, Marketing, E-Business, and Revenue Management) in support of all strategic initiatives and influencing recommended course of actions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, supervise, and execute the implementation of inventory restrictions and pricing strategies designed to optimize revenue from a rate and occupancy perspective. Continuous analysis of price positioning, seasonality and mix to identify revenue opportunity.
  • Provide support in managing room inventory’s rental availability & pricing to optimize yield of individual property and company-wide.
  • Work with VPs of resorts, DROs, General Managers, Corporate Marketing and Channel & Distribution Manager to develop channel distribution strategies based on revenue and profit objectives, market mix objectives and branding objectives
  • Assist in facilitating the annual pricing and budget process leading VPs of resorts, DROs, General Managers in establishing and maintaining effective and rational pricing strategies for rentals. Conducts quarterly and annual pricing meetings to maintain rational pricing strategies.
  • Manage the processes and capabilities that support the data collection, manipulation, and design for statistical modeling, marketing analysis, market segmentation, research, and campaign results tracking. This includes the definition of business requirements for database and data systems design, testing and maintenance.
  • Assist key internal customers to identify and meet market data, business intelligence and information needs, limit overlap, and leverage the information gathering and analytical capacity of the company. Helping sales and marketing staff to identify and exploit potential marketing opportunities, and provides insights and intelligence to guide strategic direction and enhance the quality of business decisions
  • Through management by exception, the position will be responsible for constant communication to the VP, Revenue & Distribution Management exceptional results, whether exceeding or missing expectations, with plans to respond accordingly
  • Providing unparalleled customer service support to internal/external customers relative to reservations as well as resolution of availability, database and booking discrepancies as they arise
  • Developing, directing, and coordinating Revenue & Distribution Management training as required.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as directed by Management

Job Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Associate degree with specialized course work in Statistics, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Financial Management or a closely related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience or related experience.

Experience:

  • Must be able to operate IBM Compatible hardware/software applications to include word processing, spreadsheet, databases and any essential software for the job functions. A high proficiency level of Microsoft Excel knowledge is desirable with proven ability to execute pivot query and utilize OLAP tools.
  • Must have basic mathematical skills with a clear understanding of ratios, percentages, mark-ups, discounts, ROI, RevPAR, and occupancy, etc.
  • Must have basic knowledge of the basic applications of sales and marketing activities to include advertising, direct mail, customer data-base development, merchandising, promotions, pricing, presentations
  • Must possess good strategic and tactical business skills and a passion for using data to drive better decision making.
  • Must have a genuine interest and intellectual curiosity for consumers and understanding who they are, why they behave the way that they do and how they respond to VRI/TPI’s marketing, product and service.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills to serve both internal and external customers. Must be able to communicate to customers and co-workers in the English Language.
  • Must effectively deal with internal and external customers with an elevated level of patience, tact and diplomacy, to defuse anger and collect accurate information as well as to work with others as a team.
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight time line.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage outside departments and agencies.
