The Director, Procurement Analytics is responsible for supporting the evaluation and implementation of new database technologies to meet MVW’s growing business needs while ensuring fit within a larger digital technology ecosystem and data strategy.
Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities)
Lead the analytics and data strategy as it relates to end-to-end integration of the MVW Corporate Procurement organization, enabling significant scale and growth.
Provide thought leadership, strategy, and subject matter expertise in all aspects related to procurement analytics and data science.
Collect and analyze procurement data for business insights and effective decision-making.
Coach and continuously develop analytics and data science talent within the organization.
Lead interactions with colleagues across the function to understand how to partner to generate value through deeper category, supplier, and spend insights derived from the Procurement centralized data platform.
Coordinate with stakeholders to conceptualize, develop, and implement consistent, robust, and sustainable procurement and business intelligence capabilities.
Frame solutions for both small- and large-scale sourcing challenges and develop mathematical models to conduct a multitude of mission-critical analytical tasks including but not limited to demand forecasting, S&OP planning, network analysis, order management and supply chain economic analysis.
Lead the team in development of analytical insights and recommendations to cross-functional business partners both within and outside of Corporate Procurement organization to helping them gain a better understanding of business, identify spend and savings opportunities, and improve their decision-making.
Manages activities, issues, and risks for the technical activities for related projects.
Assist with the coordination and monitoring of system analysis, design, build, test, and deployment activities for reporting and analysis.
Manage internal controls including project intake and prioritize multiple requests from executive and cross-functional partners for both ad-hoc and repeatable support.
Responsible for transitioning manual and non-conforming reporting solutions to enterprise recognized automated reporting solutions.
Ensures reporting decisions are consistent with Enterprise Reporting and MVW strategies, for items such as, but not limited to key metric reporting, reporting/data security, SOX certification, and automation delivery.
Ensure technical decisions are consistent with MVW Information Technology strategies and policies.
Partner with the data integration team to convey business requirements to deliver key data integrations that support reporting needs.
Support the implementation of Self-Service reporting to business partners.
Specific Candidate Profile (the education, experience, skills and attributes that are important for this position)
BS/BA in Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or Business Administration; CSCP or MBA preferred
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Analytics, Data Science, Supply Chain, Procurement, or relevant field
Proven 10+ year track record of designing, implementing, and supporting large scale data and analytics solutions
Leadership background within the analytics or data science Supply Chain field with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and supporting large scale data and analytics solutions.
Capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing deadlines within their team
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, while being able to translate business needs into reporting solutions.
Advanced skills in data warehouse analysis, business intelligence reporting / analysis software, design and production support is required.
Proven ability to diagnose information systems, analyze data, and make recommendations for data improvement
Experience in SQL, SAS, Tableau, R, python, or other similar data analytics tools.
Must be proficient in viewing objects in Oracle and SQL Server, T-SQL
Must have experience in Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server procedural language, business analysis, and business intelligence
A strong understanding of Business Intelligence reporting software (i.e., Cognos, Tableau).
Proven ability to write reports and general correspondence for presentation to senior leadership
