Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.

Specific Job Summary

Primary Objective:

The person in this role is responsible for maintaining an enterprise view of all integrated and developed application work across the IT organization and facilitating the appropriate governance of that work across the organization. IT governance encompasses all of the processes required to successfully plan and deliver IT projects including , budgeting, resource management, requirements management, risk management, project cost estimation and management, project schedule estimation and management, project communication and reporting, vendor delivery management, and quality assurance.

This individual will provide facilitation and collaboration to multiple teams consisting of application architects, application development resources, technical SMEs, business partners, and offshore/onshore vendor resources. This position is also responsible for ensuring that application projects delivered meet the organization's expectations for functionality and quality.

Specific Expected Contributions

Key Accountabilities:

  • Captures and tracks information related to all IT projects and initiatives including:
    • Requirements
    • Estimated costs
    • Baseline Work Breakdown Structure
    • Schedule variance
    • Quality plan
    • Commercial agreements
    • Vendor performance
    • Risks and issues
  • Supports the concept of Enterprise IT Resource Planning for MVW including
    • Request and assignment of IT shared resources
    • Staff augmentation
    • Onboarding of contractors and consultants
  • Supports the Technology Executive Committee with project information and enterprise view of project data
  • Supports IT Governance Committees and Service Line Directors with project information and domain views of project data
  • Manages the project compliance process to ensure adherence to project and reporting methods and standards across the enterprise
  • Establishes and manages processes, procedures and templates for tracking project requirements, schedules, costs, quality and benefits against the baseline project objectives
  • Establishes and manages processes, procedures and templates for exchanging project related information with F&A to support PMO processes including project budgets, actual cost of work performed, estimated cost to completion.

Major Decision Making Impact:

  • Requires building effective working relationships with the senior business and IT management of the corporation and other sponsoring executive management to ensure understanding and support for program initiatives.

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Usually a professional position with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or related experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Core Competencies:

  • BS/BA degree in relevant field
  • 8 to 10 years in relevant leadership roles
  • Demonstrated skills in customer relations, customer communication, organization and project planning/management
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Vendor management


Education -- Requires BS/BA degree in relevant field or equivalent experience and training. PMP Certification is required. ITIL Certification preferred.

Experience --

  • 8 to 10 or more years experience with depth and breadth of experience including multiple successful project management engagements and/or PMO office management roles.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SDLC methodologies and experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.
