Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally, works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.

Specific Job Summary

The Business Process Manager must have the ability to drive software/hardware deployments, recognize opportunities and collaborate with business partners such as Directors and Managers at the sites and other internal departments to implement/change business processes utilizing existing organizational software. The candidate must possess strong business acumen, a basic understanding of how technology in general works, and knowledge of decision support systems. The manager must be comfortable working in a global matrix organization and fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and skills across organizational levels in diverse cultures are critical.

Expected Contributions

§ Performs the following types of basic tasks: facilitating/coordinating new software and hardware deployments, investigating, and resolving issues with vendor and other internal departments, inventory management, and configuration management.

§ Contributes to team, department and/or business results by performing more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes, or parts of larger processes.

§ Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on standard/routine business requests with limited risk.

§ Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.

§ Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.
  • Working with others to identify and remove barriers to success.
  • Developing and using systems to organize and keep track of information.
  • Establishing priorities for self and, where appropriate, others.
  • Allocating own time effectively to meet goals in a manner that does not disadvantage other associates or groups.

§ Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

§ Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

§ Acting Subject Matter Expert (SME) of operational software system

  • Create, manage, and maintain the delivery of end-user communications such as User Announcements
  • Manage service request issues related to the software/hardware.
  • Tracks and reports on outstanding bug issues and reports to upper management progress.
  • Facilitate and partner with other departments/external vendors in resolving technical issues.
  • Document end-user processes and software changes and use as applicable for training.
  • Roll out schedules and train end users on proper software and hardware usage.
  • Participate in business change management tasks, as necessary related to the software.
  • Create and execute test cases for new software enhancements.
  • Provide after-hours application support as scheduled.
  • Manage site requests for new software and hardware deployments.
  • Effectively track and monitor software bugs and issues.
  • Manage a process training certification system.
  • Partner with multiple departments in IT to deploy complex software and hardware systems.
  • Act as final sign-off before new logic of enhancements is added into production environment.
  • Develop and direct the Help Desk department on best practices for supporting software and hardware components.

§ Backup SME to other operational software systems

§ Process Management

  • Consistently review process issues with the sites and provide resolution.
  • Modify/improve existing site processes based on feedback.
  • Work with other team members in identifying common data issues and work with sites to resolve.
  • Manage internal software tracking system of deployed hardware and software.
  • Responsible for executing large purchases based on demand and lead time of material.
  • Partner with finance to allocate costs to the appropriate sites depending on deployments.
  • Determine when to purchase additional long-term user license agreements based on projected business needs.
  • Recommend process changes at the site level and ensures standardization across the company.
  • Create and maintain internal/external policies on best practices including but not limited to:

- Software Configuration Management

- Software Testing

- Business Processes

  • Recommend process changes to improve efficiencies at the site level and ensure standardization across the company.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Usually, a professional position with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). A college degree and/or related experience is typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Education

§ Four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent work experience.

Experience

§ Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience with a focus on technology, business analysis, and/or process support.

Skills & Attributes

§ Proficient in Microsoft Office

§ Ability to work independently with minimal outside supervision.

§ Working knowledge in project management and implementation § Ability to travel

§ Superior communication skills to effectively report to end users and senior management in verbal or written format.

§ Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
