Position Summary
As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.
Specific Job Summary
The Associate Director, Digital Product Management is a highly seasoned management role that works with cross-functional business stakeholders to define Digital strategy. This position must be able to translate business strategy into Digital requirements for websites, apps, and other Digital platforms and a strong understanding of the hospitality or vacation ownership business is preferred.
The Associate Director, Digital Product Management’s key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of digital work, building relationships with various business stakeholders, understanding business priorities, defining business requirements on Digital initiatives in the form of epics and user stories, and obtaining the necessary project funding for project execution. This position has shared accountability for product success with the other parts of the Digital product team including the Digital Producer, Digital Business Analyst, and the Digital Product Marketing Manager.
Expected Contributions
- Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
- Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
- Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
- Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: − identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes. − providing training and technical guidance to fewer senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution. − participating in setting department operating plans. − recognizing and celebrating team successes. − achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

Specific Expected Contributions
The Associate Director, Digital Product Management provides broad operational and strong functional management and guidance on Digital initiatives. Expectations and responsibilities include the following:
- Product Strategy – builds and maintains relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and peers and then leverages those relationships to receive rich input on Digital products.
- Product Definition – uses input from stakeholders and peers to create epics and user stories as artifacts maintained in the backlog for prioritization, sprint planning, development, and production support.
- Product Prioritization – Oversees the backlog refinement and sprint planning process, reviewing the product backlog, and selecting user stories for the next sprint based on business priorities and available technical talent.
- Product Development – Attends sprint daily standup meetings (scrums) to understand sprint progress and to act as arbiter for any product feature questions.
- Product Quality – Ensures that the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) includes appropriate stakeholders and performs his / her own testing to ensure product quality. Additionally, leads the Sprint Demos to ensure that stakeholders are aware of sprint development outcomes, and that the new product features are ready for deployment.
- Product Deployment – Coordinates deployment dates, ensures all stakeholder groups are trained and ensures proper communication of deployment impacts to the business.
- Product Marketing - Monitors usage of Digital products and works with internal partners to communicate product benefits and features to internal and external users.
Candidate Profile
Generally, a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.
Specific Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Digital, Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, or 5+ years’ experience in related field.
- 4 – 6 years of product management experience
- 8 – 10 years of Digital experience
- Ability to interact with a wide range of levels and communication styles to collaboratively define product features.
- Strong understanding of digital best practices, including but not limited to UI/UX design, Information Architecture (IA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Search Engine Optimization and Marketing (SEO/SEM)
- Strong understanding and command of digital software development tools including creation of user stories and backlog management.
- Ability to learn complex product rules or functions (including technical platform feature) and to then capture and share those rules and functions using digital software development tools.
- A proven track record of consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations.
- Exceptional initiative, attention to detail, and follow-through skills to ensure what's produced is accurate and satisfies requirements.
- She/he must have a passion for producing outstanding work, delivered on time and on budget.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Timeshare product knowledge and experience is a plus. Digital agency experience is a plus
